Moonmoth at Euston Square by Evi Antonio is an original work on paper. Created using a variety of techniques including digital painting and composition, fine art printing and hand finished painting techniques. All her work is either created in small editions or as one of a kind.
This piece is an original artwork, which starts as a digital painting then printed on the highest quality fine art paper and then hand painted and varnished to create depth and definition.
Evi says of Moonmoth at Euston Square and her other work:
“I seek out moments that occur in my present urban setting. Where evolving abstract beauty, deconstruction and decay collide. in nature, I see infinite patterns, symmetry, intricate and perfect. On the streets, I see something similar emerging from unexpected beauty as I walk around London. I’d like to take the viewer on my journey where my love for nature and urban landscape collide in harmony.”
Further progress saw Antonio win the It’s Art Call 2019, London Arts competition. Which Runway Gallery’s director Daniel Syrett was a judge. Evi became a new addition to our roster of Runway artists,
‘When I saw Moonmoth at Euston Square by Evi, I knew straight away I wanted to work with her.’ says Syrett
Moonmoth is a general term describing imagos (winged adults) of several Saturniinae species, having as a distinctive trait large round or near-round spots on the forewings and hindwings – hence “moon”. Wikipedia
