Dollie I is an original and unique illustration on arches paper by American Illustrator and Lecturer, Connie Lim.
Lim is a professional illustrator and designer from Los Angeles, California. She has trained at prestigious universities such as Art Center College of Art and Design Pasadena (Illustration, 2008). Also, UAL’s Central Saint Martins in London (Fashion Design with Marketing, 2013). As an artist specialising in fashion, she merged her two loves of illustration and fashion design to create unique and striking images with a strong personal vision. Dollie I is a great example of this. She is an avid believer in traditional drawing. And is interested in portraying her subjects in different contexts to create visual narrative.
Connie is currently living in London and is a lecturer at the University for the Creative Arts Rochester. She’s also a short course lecturer at Central Saint Martins. Plus, a guest lecturer at various other universities. Her clients include Guerlain, Bulgari, Louboutin, Bielo, and Revlon. Her work has been featured in books including Martin Dawber’s Great Big Book of Fashion Illustration, and Beautiful by Gestalten and the latest by Taschen, The Illustrator – 100 Best From Around the World.
Fashion can be moving at light speed and constantly changing with trends but ultimately, I want to catch those profound moments that I find beautiful through my pen and paper so it’s concrete.
