Where do you live in Toronto? Queen West near Trinity Bellwoods.
What’s your regular restaurant in your area? I think some of the best food in the city is at Canis. It’s absurdly close to where I live, so when I need an inspiring dinner out, that’s where you’ll find me. Foxley is also both classic and exciting. If I want something quick and healthy, I will order a poké bowl from Calii Love. But mostly, I stay in and cook for myself or friends.
Describe your favourite walk I dislike routine, so I can’t give you a favourite walk… but a stroll through Trinity Bellwoods park and around all the little side streets is lovely. A run along Lake Ontario in the early morning is a habit of mine in warmer weather.
Best area for wandering? St. Lawrence Market or Kensington Market, or along Queen West.
What would you do in Toronto on a Sunday? Leave. The access we have to Real Nature outside of the city is incredible, and weekends in the country are a treat.
Best Place for coffee? Early Bird.
Favourite Shop? I love going to The Spice Trader to fuel my cooking obsession, Type for books and Mjolk for the most beautiful objects and furniture.
Go to a Museum or Gallery? The AGO.
Favorite Bar – Apres Wine Bar.
Favorite Pub – We don’t have a rich pub culture here, so I’d suggest Bar Raval, perhaps the most stunning yet cozy place to drink in the city.
Date night! Where would you go to eat? Buca Yorkville has the most sensational seafood– try the raw branzino and the salumi di mare. For a more laid back meal, the bar at Brothers. Where’s your earliest memory of Toronto? The CNE. It’s a big fair that comes to the city at the end of the summer. Roller coasters and cotton candy. Being a small child in what felt like a big city!
Describe a building/place you must see when you come to Toronto? I love the Lee-Chin Crystal facade of the ROM, though it’s definitely a love/hate thing for many Torontonians!
